Description
To provide Medical support type services performed at the Medical Treatment Facility as required by the 31st Medical Support Squadron, Medical Appointment Section, Aviano AB, Italy.

Specific Requirements
- Coordinates referral management functions and ensures team members receive information in a timely and efficient manner to facilitate continuity of patient care
- Coordinates specialty care referrals. All patients shall be assured of their privacy and personal dignity.
- Reviews specialty care referrals for appropriateness, covered benefit, and administrative completeness.
- Schedules/coordinates specialty care and durable medical equipment appointments within military health system and local network and provide appointment notification and instruction to patient.
- Provides health benefits advice to patients and assists with claims submission and processing.
- Maintains and tracks referral records.
- Participates s with team members in providing, assessing and improving a wide variety of customer services/relations. This includes, but is not limited to, front desk service, requiring direct interaction with walk-in patients.
- Assists in the management of all forms of communication between beneficiaries, team members, and internal staff and providers, network/outside providers and ancillary health care workers.
- Obtains, scans and/or uploads clear and legible medical reports into medical records and provides notification to referring provider for review.
- Maintains direct communication with major host nation facility contacts specifically related to referrals/authorizations for OB services. Informs patients of facility options and processes additional referrals that may be needed pertaining to continued OB care.
- The contractor must remain in the 31 MDG or be immediately available to the 31 MDG throughout each tour of duty.
- The contractor shall attend meetings and trainings as directed by the TOPA Flight Commander or his/her designee as required.
- The contractor shall complete all MTF orientation programs, initial and annual training requirements, and comply with all MTF policies, procedures, productivity standards and instructions as provided by the MTF.
- Knowledge and clerical and administrative office functions
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at high level equal to B2. Bilingual English/Italian is preferred.
- Have experience working within the Air Force Medical Service or DOD is preferred. Consideration will be given to those who have completed medical-related college-level coursework.
- Education. High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency. Medical terminology desired.
