Senior Clinical Engineer
The candidate will provide support to the Telehealth / Virtual Health Operation Division at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, MD.
The Senior Clinical Engineer
- Clinical SME shall work with DHA and NCR MTF’s Information Technology Departments (ITD) and Cybersecurity Divisions to maintain and support Virtual Health systems to meet Information Assurance (IA) standards within the DOD/DHA Joint Medical (JMED) domain.
- The Contractor shall be responsible for advising and providing input to facilitate planning and execution of Virtual Health initiatives at the NCR market-level as well as Military Treatment Facility-level.
- Experience and ability to perform technical tasks at both the tactical and strategic levels are required.
Qualifications:
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must meet DoD 8570.01-M and DoDD 8140.01 IAT Level II certification requirements within 6-months of performance start, including Security + certification.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Active SECRET level security clearance is required prior to start of performance.
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of combined experience of specialized training and experience in telecommunication systems operations and management.
- Experience must include significant work with VTC equipment.
- Experience must have been acquired within the last ten years. Preferable healthcare experience working with telehealth systems within a DoD or Military Treatment Facility setting.
- Familiarity with DoD electronic record systems, e.g. (HAIMS, AHLTA, CHCS, and ESSENTRIS), DoD networks and data exchange mechanisms.
- Knowledge and preferred direct experience with network security requirements and the Risk Management Framework. Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound technical judgement, and possess skills necessary to facilitate launching new programs.
- Possess a high degree of interpersonal skills when dealing with all levels of customers and personnel within the correspondence section and at the Command level
- Shall be able to read, write, speak, and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers;
- Must possess both the written and verbal communication skills necessary to work with remote Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Proficient in creating presentations and in spreadsheet development and management.
