RWD Consulting is looking for an experienced full-time Psychiatric Technician to provide services at the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Ft. Belvoir, VA.  This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pych Tech to provide services at the new state of the art FBCH while supporting our nation's military!  This offers prime location outside of the beltway and close to 95, 395 and 495 near Springfield and Lorton, VA.  

Scheduling Details:

• Qualified psych techs must be able to work all shifts to include weekends and holidays as this position is required 24/7/365.

Scope of Work/Service (tasks include, but are not limited to):

• Assist psychiatric registered nurse in formulating nursing actions for the patient.
• Escort patients to appointment.
• Report deviations in patient behavior to supervisor.
• Share patient information and reactions with treatment team.
• Take and record patient’s vital signs and report deviations.
• Deliver specimens to the lab.
• Gather, compile and document patient data in automated data systems.
• Work with patients using a variety of treatment procedures in a group setting.
• Electronically document patient information as required.

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Psychiatric Technician working in a hospital, long term care or similar setting.  
• Must provide proof of completion or certification from an accredited, formal Psychiatric Technician training program.
• Employee shall meet education, licensing, training, and experience requirements. All documentation shall be required for review prior to start of work and records regarding licensure, certification, and life support training are to be kept up to date.
• Must have current and maintain certification in Basic Life Support Training (BLS).
