Requirements:

Must be U.S. Citizen or provide a Certificate of Naturalization.

    • Degree:  Master'degree in nursing.
    • Education:  Graduate froaacademic program, within the nursing specialtfield of study that is accrediteby a regional or nationanursing accrediting agencrecognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
    • Certification:  Certified in the specialtrequireby the Tas a Nurse Practitioneby the AmericaNurses Credentialing Cente(ANCC)AmericaAcademoNurse Practitioner(AANP) or the recognized nationanursing certification organization for the specialtarea of practicaappropriate (for exampleNational CertificatioBoarof Pediatric Nurse Practitionerand Nurses, AmericaNurseAssociation, National Certification Corporation for the ObstetricGynecologic and Neonatal Specialties), Basic LIfe Support, and additionally are required to have Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) at time of Credentialing. *Recertifications ONLY may be conducted on Space-A availability at the MTF.
    • Experience:  Arequired to meeclinicacompetencrequirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.be required to demonstrate clinical competency within the past two years in the required clinical discipline
    • Licensure:  Current, full, activeand unrestricted license as a RegistereNurse.

 

Duties:

Core Duties:

  • Provide a full rangooutcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granteby the MT(e.g., supervise and providgeneral screeninand medical carand examinations of patients for routineacute and chronic conditions involving anand all orgasystems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
  • Technically direcand teach other staff, provide evidenced-baseeducational lectureand participate in in-servictraining to staff members.
  • Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepteprotocols, clinical practicguidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.
  • Promote preventive carand health maintenancincluding annual physicals, positive health behaviorand self-care through both formaand individuaeducation and counseling.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/familand organization.
  • Recognize conditions tharequire isolation and ensure universaprecautions are used in all patient encounters. 
  • Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, ancontinuous quality improvement and safety.


Start date: 

  • As soon as possible pending Federal Security Clearance process completion (typically 4-6 weeks after initiation)


Schedule:

NNPs will work 24-hour shifts or 12 hour shifts as needed. Example shifts are 0700-0700, 0700-1900, 1900-0700.


Ability to commute:

  • Reliably transportation is required and expected for commuting to and from the work site.
