Summary/Objective

RWD Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced General Maintenance Worker (GMW). Under the direct supervision of the Site Lead, the GMW will be working in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns demand constant attention. The GMW must focus on customers' expectations, prevent problems and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers and other employees. We seek someone with a “can-do” attitude who can apply experience from multiple trades. The ideal candidate will understand the importance to adhering to corporate and client policies, rules and regulations in order to provide an exceptional level of quality.

The GMW will perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and the building overall. The GMW operates in the following roles:

  • Painter:
    • Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in ceilings and interior and exterior walls
    • Painting structures and equipment
    • Puttying, caulking, scraping, sanding as needed
  • Carpenter:
    • Performing minor repairs such as adjusting doors, replacing door knobs and replacing door locks
    • Replacing broken window panes and window locks
    • Repairing carpet
  • Plumber:
    • Performing minor plumbing based on GMW’s capabilities
    • Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets
  • Electrician:
    • Providing minor electrical repair such as replacing light bulbs, switches, switch covers, outlets, outlet covers, dishwashers, hot water heater elements, and door bells
    • Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery
  • Mason:
    • Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps and sidewalks
    • Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles
  • HVAC Maintenance:
    • Changing and cleaning air conditioning filters
  • Grounds Maintenance:
    • Perform snow removal including shoveling snow and salting the ground

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a large research development facility which has following: mechanic shop, research & design facility, manufacturing, warehouse, office space.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This role would require the ability to lift to 50 pounds. The GMW is frequently required bend or stand, with considerable time spent carrying small tools for trade and/or supply materials.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00PM. Schedule flexibility is provided as possible. Overtime is provided as scheduled and directed based on customer needs.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role or related field.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and pass issued background check
  • Ability to use a computer

Preferred Education and Experience

While not required for this role, meeting the following “bonus” qualification(s) will set a candidate apart from the others.

  • Licensed electrician or HVAC technician
  • Experience using MicroMain and/or MP2 maintenance software

Security Clearance

Must possess, or be able to obtain, a Security Clearance.
